The Wildebeest's Review of Wild Magazine Issue 20

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

Spring is in the air, and I have in front of me the Spring edition of Wild Magazine featuring a great shot of a White-fronted Bee-eater on the cover. Let’s see if this edition lives up to its normal high standards.

Glancing at the contents page I see articles on a new camp in the Pafuri region of Kruger National Park, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, Bontebok and Wilderness. A nice variety of subjects. Of course, there are numerous other bits and pieces throughout the magazine.

I particularly enjoyed the article on butterflies under the heading of “Nature’s flirts.” It was written by Steve Woodhall whose guide to southern African butterflies should be in every nature lover’s library.

I have done a trail in iMfolozi Game Park so the article on the Primitive Trail brought back many good memories and some not so good ones! Those rhinos seemed to have an issue with our group strolling through their patch...

Overall, this edition is great, and I am already looking forward to Issue 21.
