Venterstad
Afrikaans name: Venterstad
Venterstad
Eastern Cape
The name Venterstad (Meaning Venter's City) is somewhat misleading as this is just a small village between Norvalspont and Burgersdorp in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
The town gets it name from the original owner of the land. Venterstad was first established in 1875 but it only got municipal status in 1895.
Venterstad is situated on flat plains that are home to cattle farms.
If you are looking for an out of the way place to visit then this could be your place! There is not a lot to do but the tranquility of the area is actually what attracts some people.
There are a couple of old church buildings that are worth seeing.
