KwaZulu-Natal

Ramsgate is an attractive little town that is situated at the mouth of the Bilanhlolo River, on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

The town was named after the farm on which the town was founded and that farm took its name from the town of the same name in England.

The Ramsgate beach is the main attraction. It is to the south of the town on the north bank of the Bilanhlolo River. There is a tidal pool near the south bank of the Bilanhlolo River. One can also go to Blue Bay and Groom's Pantry Bay. There is a 6 km walk, named the Ramsgate Marine Ramble, which allows you to explore the coastline in the area.

There is variety of accommodation in the area. Margate, Shelly Beach and Port Shepstone are all a short drive away so most amenities are easily available.
