Wellington, in the Western Cape, is a picturesque town surrounded by vineyards and mountains. It is less than an hours drive from Cape Town.

The vineyards around Wellington are well-known for producing fine wines and brandy. South Africa only has one producer of whisky and they too are located in the area. Wine lovers will enjoy taking the Wellington Wine and Brandy Route.

Adventure lovers will enjoy hikes in the mountains, abseiling, horse trails, mountain biking and driving a 4x4 route.

There are a number of historic buildings in the town and the Wellington Museum is worth a visit.

Visitors will find a wide array of accommodation options including self-catering, B&B's, guest houses and resorts.
