Afrikaans name: Tom Burke

Tom Burke is a tiny village that is situated 9 km from the Botswana border in Limpopo province. The town has a significant police presence as it serves the surrounding region. The town is at the junction of the N11 and the R572. The nearest town on the N11 is Marnitz which is 51 km away.

Although there is not much on offer in Tom Burke it is surrounded by many game farms and safari lodges. The unspoilt bush in the surrounding areas is the major drawcard. Hunting is a popular activity in the area.

There are not too many towns that offer a quiet relaxing environment but Tom Burke is one of them. Enjoy the tranquility or take a game drive and experience nature.

Tom Burke experiences hot summers and warm winters but winter nights can get pretty chilly.

Agriculture is the main reason for the town’s existence. The predominant farming activities are groundnut production, maize and cattle.
